Workplace Inequality is a huge problem – how Diversein.com is helping solve it

September 13, 2018

Two weeks ago, I attended the Ireland launch of the new global Diversity & Inclusion Embassy, Diversein (www.diversein.com). Founded by the remarkable Furkan Karayel (pictured left, a software engineer turned entrepreneur and an award-winning Diversity & Inclusion leader), Diversein is a new platform that brings people from different backgrounds together to make equal and happier workplaces.

It acts as the voice of underrepresented groups to raise their issues at workplaces to global levels. An expert team of ambassadors (so far 18 leading lights in the Diversity & Inclusion sector from 5 different countries), each with their own specific areas of expertise: women in tech, ethnicity, culture, LGBT+, disabilities and refugees). And the number of supporters of the platform is growing every day.

I am one of them. And you should be too.

We live in a digital and 24/7 connected world and yet it is also a world of growing inequality and one where many people, especially those from minority groups, can struggle to integrate and be accepted for who they are and what they bring. This is true for Ireland and Diversein is a force of good to make a positive change.

Diversein also provides global diversity and inclusion updates, events, interviews, guidelines, and case studies to make better working environments where everyone feels equal. Watch out for a new podcast series with diversity leaders, launching next month and the Diversein magazine by the year-end.

Diversein has been nominated for "The Best Diversity Resource" award by Inclusive Companies, based in the UK. Watch out for new launches in London and Silicon Valley.

I was humbled and honoured to be included in Diversein’s Top 20 Diversity Leaders to watch in 2018 https://www.diversein.com/news/diversity-leaders-to-watch
